Hey all, I also found another site to take a look at Queenstown accommodation and Queenstown hotels at, if you're headed that way and are looking. Queenstown is straight up - well, in my opinion anyway - the adventure capital of NZ, so if there are any adrenalin junkies reading this, you need to stop off there! But apart from that there's also pretty good fishing, and wine tasting tours, so I reckon you'll find something no matter what you're after :)

Queenstown is the adventure capital of NZ but its very commercial and must be the destination of every asian on the planet. Much prefer Te Anau on the way to Milford Sound.

Queenstown is a resort town in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island. The town is picturesquely built around an inlet on Lake Wakatipu, a long thin "S"-shaped lake, and has spectactular views of nearby mountains. There are various accounts of how the town was named, the most popular suggests that a local gold digger exclaimed that the town was "fit for Queen Victoria". Being popular with tourists due to scenery and activities available, New Zealanders sometimes refer to Queenstown as "Vegas by the Lake". The town is the largest centre in Central Otago, but for some administrative purposes it is considered part of Southland. According to the 2001 census, the usually resident population of the Queenstown urban area (including Frankton and Kelvin Heights) is 8535, an increase of 19.3% since 1996. Its neighbouring towns and districts include Arrowtown, Wanaka, Alexandra, and Cromwell. The nearest cities are Dunedin and Invercargill. Wikipedia
