This is a great place to come for a relaxing weekend. Good bars and cafes and oh yes, Vineyards !
It's about an hour's drive from Wellington and has good access to Lake Ferry and Cape Palliser areas.

Martinborough with its concentration of small vineyards has become a mecca for weekending Wellingtonians. Don't expect much activity at the start of the week though. The Website provides "virtual" access to Martinborugh information. It has a good vineyard map (most vineyards are within walking distance of the town centre), lists a wide range of accommodation and tells you when things are happening.
