Description

Old St Pauls is a unique example of 18th Century Gothic Revival architecture. Built in 1866 it was used for 98 years as the Cathedral church for the diocese. Constructed entirely out of native timber, the warm wooden interior of the building is enhanced by magnificent stained glass windows. Memorial items and displays tell the early history of Wellington. Still a consecrated Church though no longer a parish, Old St Pauls is a well used venue for visitors, and various events such as weddings, funerals, concerts and recitals.
