Adam Art Gallery

The Adam Art Gallery Te Pataka Toi is a purpose-built public art gallery that provides a changing programme of local national and international exhibitions and also manages works from the Victoria University of Wellington Art Collection.

According to the Architectural Centre:

The Adam took an awkward, unused space and transformed it into an explosion of exciting spaces. Built as a series of galleries arising off different turns of the main circulation stair, the inside is as visually interesting as the exterior is austere. Simple materials (such as steel, rubber and zinc) are used richly and rawly, and both inside and out, allowing a cost effective solution to an incredibly challenging site.
