Description
Hire a boat or canoe, and step back in time by traveling down the picturesque Avon River as the settlers of Christchurch once did.
Or if that is too much like hard work perhaps you may like to sit back with breakfast, brunch or a cappuccino while sitting by the Avon River at our own licensed Boatshed Cafe.
The Antigua Boat Sheds is a fully licensed venue with a Marquee and a Barbeque available for summer parties and functions.
We will cater for any occasion, designed to your needs. Just some of our specialities include:
*Group bookings
*Childrens birthdays
*Private functions
*Cocktail parties
The Antigua Boatsheds were built in 1882 by two boatbuilders of Lyttelton, Messrs Albert Shaw and J. T. Tidd. They erected the large boat sheds, 27 by 9 metres near the Antigua Street bridge. The building today as it stands is one of the oldest in Christchurch and among the only ones still used for it's original purpose.
