My grandmother took me to Birdlings Flat in the 60s. I thought it was a frightening, terrific place. The waves-which seemed huge then-the undertow , and my grandmother's warnings made it terrifying. All the "treasures" found lying on the beach made the place absolutely amazing for a six year old. I love this place. My Dad use to bring me & my brother here when we were kids to looks for stones. Now it's my turn to brings my two sons here. This stoney beach is a great place to find lots of beautiful stones.
