Wrights Hill Fortress and Recreation Reserve

Visit this historic gun emplacement and 620 metres of underground tunnels constructed during World War II. Surrounding the emplacement are bush walks, and picnic areas with fantastic views. Currently being restored by a restoration society, open days are 4 times a year: 10am - 4pm. Waitangi Day (February 6), Anzac Day (April 25), Queens Birthday (June) and Labour Day (October).
