I've stayed in Ohakune many times now. Not only is it a great destination for skiing, it's still an 'undiscovered' mecca for the snowboarder or skier. The largest ski area in NZ and the newest and largest & fastest ski lifts in all of Australasia. I usually stay a great house - check it out at www.ohakunerentals.co.nz Nice & close to everything and great view of the Mt & Turoa ski field. I really liked the no expense spared luxury furniture.
