Description

Rotorua is a district located on the southern shore of Lake Rotorua in the Bay of Plenty region of the North Island of New Zealand. It has a population of 53,000, of which one third is Māori. The district is located 60 km south of Tauranga, 105 km south-east of Hamilton and 82 km north-east of Taupo. Rotorua is connected to the north by State Highway 5, to the east by State Highway 33, to the west by State Highway 30, and to the south by State Highway 5. Rotorua is also connected by rail with a branch line from Putaruru to the north. Rotorua is well-known for the geothermal activity in the area. There are a number of geysers (notably the 20 m Pohutu geyser at Whakarewarewa) and hot mud pools located in the city, which owe their presence to the Rotorua caldera. Hey all, I also found another place to look for Rotorua accommodation and Rotorua hotels here, if you need to take a look. Rotorua's pretty damn sweet, I'm a big fan of the massages after a spa!

If you are looking for something unique to do here, come play a round of golf on our geothermal course. You'll get to experience boil mud-pools, steaming hot lakes, and native New Zealand bush while enjoying a challenging round of golf. www.rotoruagolfclub.co.nz
