Quail Trail is the way to get to Quail Island, an Island inside Lyttelton Harbor, and just a 15-minute leisurely cruise from Sea Cruises office at B Jetty.

Quail Island is rich in History - both Maori and early European, with the Island being used to fulfil many purposes over the years. More recently Quail Island has proved to be an attraction for people to just spend the day, away from the busy City Life in a natural / native surrounding and the excellent swimming beach for recreational activities. You can also investigating the grasslands and the rocky coastal areas which include a number of visible shipwrecks, also keep a sharp lookout for the native birds and lizards which now abound on the island.

An ideal location for a 1/2 or full day freedom walk, or just relaxing in an isolated part of Natural New Zealand.
