My favourite activity on Waiheke, where I live, is the biennial "Sculpture on the Gulf" walk around some of the bays and finishing at the Cable Bay vineyard. The next walk is 27 January 2007. Don't miss it! It is the biggest outdoor sculpture exhibitition in NZ.A picture is in my profile.

Great beaches, boutique wineries and diverse arts and crafts shops are only thirty-five minutes from downtown Auckland by regular ferry service. A good DayOut.
